My name is Nusula Nakayiwa, and I am a Ugandan-born, South East London-raised multidisciplinary creative and visual artist. My love for art began at a young age, sketching my favourite cartoon characters, and later grew through formal studies in Fine Art, Design, and Media. That passion led me to earn a BA Hons in Animation, deepening my understanding of visual storytelling and creative expression.

My journey as a painter has taken many twists and turns, however my love for creating has always remained. During my time living in Toronto, I immersed myself in the city’s vibrant art scene, which reignited my passion for painting. This led to multiple group exhibitions and eventually my own solo show, an experience that reinforced my commitment to sharing my artistic voice.

I primarily work with acrylics on canvas, and at times layering mixed media to create bold and textured pieces. My body of work is inspired by the rich cultures and experiences that have shaped who I am to date. My art is always evolving, but at the core, it’s about sparking connections and encouraging open-hearted conversations. I hope my pieces brings a little joy and inspiration to others, just as creating them does for me.
